SAT

What’s the SAT?

The SAT or the Scholastic Assessment Test is an aptitude test in English and Mathematics that aims to assess students’ comprehension, analysis and logical thinking skills.

The test evaluates the ways in which students analyse and solve problems. The test has a time constraint. The test is created and administered by the College Board in the USA.

Why should I take the SAT?

Throughout the academic year, students are not evaluated the same way across the world, every school, every country has their own criteria of assessment.

The SAT allows universities to assess students from all around the world using the same criteria to ensure a fair evaluation.

PS. Scores and transcripts remain an important element of the application process.

What are the different sections of the SAT?

The test takes 3 hours and 45 minutes of 4 different timed sections: Reading, Writing, Maths without calculator and Maths with calculator.

The maximum points you can get in Reading and Writing combined is 800 and the two maths sections are out of 800 combined. A total score of 1600.

When should I take the SAT ?

The key to a successful application is a good SAT score. It is better to do a first take of the test in the first year of high school.

Like everything else in life, the sooner you get started on the SAT, the better the score will be. You should not wait until the last year of high school to take your first SAT exam, you would be far behind on your objectives.
